HOME | TECHNICAL INFORMATION
***Although it's not necessary to have an Internet connection to play the game, you will not be able to view your score without an Internet connection. For the best game experience, we recommend playing the game on a computer that has an active Internet connection. ***
  1. Click the "Download Game" button to install the game to your computer.
  2. Choose "Run" when prompted to Run or Save the file, then follow the prompts to complete the installation.
  3. By default, after it is installed, you will find the game under your Start menu in Programs, MSA, Thermal Enforcer.
  4. Fill in the necessary fields at the game's login screen. You will only get the START button after filling in the required fields. Check the box if you’d like an MSA salesperson to contact you regarding MSA products.
  5. Each time you play, your scores will automatically be saved and all scores will be displayed on the website in real time each time you quit the game -- IF YOUR COMPUTER HAS AN ACTIVE INTERNET CONNECTION.
**TECHNICAL SUPPORT**
  1. For the best playing experience, here are the suggested computer specifications for MSA's Thermal Enforcer video game:

    • CPU:
      Pentium 4 - 1.4
      AMD Sempron 2800+

    • Video Card:
      nVidia GeForece3
      ATI 8500

    • RAM:
      512 MB or Greater

  2. The game is also playable using the Logitech Dual Action PC Gamepad Controller. If you have the supported controller plugged-in when you start the game (Logitech Dual Action), it will be available for use. If you go into the ‘Settings’ tab, it will indicate that the controller is available and allow you to customize it if it is recognized.
  3. The display ‘Driver’ should probably always be DirectX 8. OpenGL is experimental only.
  4. The screen resolution can be set to your preference. The higher resolutions are better looking and should work equally well as the low resolutions.
  5. ‘Fullscreen Mode’ indicates whether the game will be played in a window (unchecked) or take up the full screen (checked).
  6. ‘Show FPS’ shows the frames per second in the top-right corner that are being rendered as the game plays. This is usually not a necessary thing to enable, but does allow you to pretty easily see how well your system is performing with the game. Anything less than 20 fps on average is probably an indication that your system is not well-suited to playing the game and you might experience some amount of visual choppiness.
  7. ‘Head Bob’ configures whether your player realistically bobs his head up and down as he walks. Some people have been known to experience nausea from this effect in games. You can disable this by unchecking the box.
  8. ‘Sound Volume’ configures the overall sound volume for the game as a percentage. 0% is completely off and 100% is full volume. By the way, the game will run if you don’t have a sound card or your sound card does not work.
  9. Look Speed’ allows you to configure how fast your gamepad or mouse moves your head around as you move the controller. If the controller is moving your head either too fast or two slow, you can adjust this slider to change that behavior.
  10. The ‘Console’ tab is the most recent contents of the log file. If you play the game through and experience a problem, you can copy and paste the log file out of this console and e-mail it to susie.sapsara@msanet.com.
  11. If you are unable to run the game with the settings you have chosen, the best first option is to dial the resolution down to its lowest values (top of the list) and try that. Additionally, it is worth attempting to run in windowed mode (Fullscreen checkbox is unchecked). If neither approach works, capture the log file.
  12. If you can load the game, but it will not run, you may see a window titled ‘Sim Ops Studios Application Error Upload” displayed that indicates you encountered an error and that it is collecting information about the problem. If you have an active Internet connection you may choose to automatically send this information to us for analysis.

If the above error analysis window is not displayed, then you can manually collect the necessary information about the problem by:
    1. Open a command window (by selecting 'Run' from the Start menu and typing 'cmd')
    2. Copy the log to the C: drive by typing the following in the command window:
    3. Copy %TEMP%\msa-thermalresponse2.log C:\
    4. From the Start menu, select "My Computer."
    5. Open the C: drive (usually named "Local Disk"). In that window will be a text file named "msa-thermalresponse2.log"
    6. E-mail the "msa-thermalresponse2.log" file to susie.sapsara@msanet.com. This file will help us find the problem.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any problems with the above process.
